Vegan Chinese Takeout Favorites
Chef Andy was friendly, approachable, interactive in her teaching style, very knowledgeable and eager to share her cooking experience and knowledge with us. She was non-judgmental about the skills and knowledge and questions asked by us. The food was delicious. The only suggestion would be to provide the recipes at the beginning so we could follow along and take notes as we went. Overall a fabulous experience and I would definitely take another class from Chef Andy! -
From Dough to Delicious Pasta Creations

A Taste of Italy for 2 Guests (BYOB)
I had an amazing time at A Taste of Italy (BYOB)! The staff was warm, welcoming, and made the whole experience so much fun. The class itself was really well run, and I’d definitely recommend it for a night out with friends or a date. In terms of the food, it leaned more toward Americanized Italian cooking than traditional Italian, so if you’re looking for truly authentic regional dishes, just set your expectations accordingly. That said, everything we made was delicious, approachable, and easy to replicate at home. Overall, a great experience — fun, interactive, and the team behind it really made it special. -
Hands-On Pasta and Gnocchi Workshop
I went to the pasta-making class at The Chopping Block in Lincoln Square on Tuesday, September 2nd, and it was honestly one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. This class was a birthday gift for me (probably the best gift I’ve ever gotten), and it made for not only a super fun birthday outing but also a great date night with my partner. This was my first cooking class ever, and as someone who already loves cooking at home, I was blown away by how fun and hands-on it was. Chef Alexi was fantastic—she explained everything clearly, from rolling and cutting fettuccine to filling ravioli, and even the details of cooking the pasta just right. She was patient, thorough, and always ready to answer questions. Plus, there were other chefs walking around to offer help whenever anyone needed it, which made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. We cooked a lot of food—and even had enough to take home afterward, which was such a treat. Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend my birthday. I left with full hands (and a full stomach), new cooking skills, and some really great memories. If you’re looking for something fun, interactive, and delicious, I can’t recommend The Chopping Block enough. -

Cooking with Indian Masala
I went to the “ Masala” class with my brother-in-law, an accomplished cook. I am trying to improve my skills since having more time after retirement, and we both loved the class. We love Indian food, so why not learn how to make it at home!? The teacher is an absolutely lovely, gentle, generous woman who let a beginner begin and whose enjoyment and knowledge of cooking her favorites shone through in the class. Right after I bought some okra and prepared it with her recipe to the delight of my family. And, of course, myself. I hope a lot of folks will take advantage of this fantastic opportunity! -
