Great class! The space is great, pastry chef is super helpful and knowledgeable, even dives into the chemistry of baking which we found fascinating. And of course, the recipes were absolutely delicious!

This was my first class and Chef Clemence Gossett was the absolute best! She is very knowledgeable and patient. The class was great too! Everyone was so helpful.

Chef Clémence has lots of tips and techniques to share about making macarons, the French method. I enjoyed learning about the science behind the food and explanations in general. I came in knowing next to nothing and left feeling more confident and encouraged to make macarons at home.
I recommend this class to all interested in making and eating macarons. A sweet skill to have under your belt.

The instructor is wonderful and I learned a lot about dairy products. Unfortunately none of my products worked out, even the easy ones like yogurt and creme fraiche. I've been making these at home for years and never had a problem. Well equipped kitchen but terrible acoustics. Maybe my expectations were too high.

Instructor was well versed in her field. The hands-on activities made the class quite enjoyable and helped us to appreciate the time and effort it takes to make delicious doughnuts and fritters. I am planning on taking other classes; this one easily surpassed my expectations.

Clemence is absolutely wonderful, enthusiastic about her subject, clear and informative, and caring. I had to leave early as I wasn't well and Clemence offered to deliver my jam to me!!

It was a fun class. Very informative and hands on the whole time. Clemence is is not only knowledgeble but humorous and very passionate about bread baking.
In the course of the day we made several different kinds of breads, chocolate chip cookies that were the best I have ever had and we made butter from heavy cream that we spread on the bread we baked, stawberry jam and it was fantastic.

This class was so fun! I have been wanting to learn about canning for years and this class was perfect. Not only did we learn about canning jams but Chef Clemence also taught us about preserving lemons and making butter. I've already signed up for the bread making course!

Highly recommend this class. I suck at baking any pastries or desserts. I can rotisserie a chicken, make great steaks but can't do desserts. So, as a part of my resolution this year I set out to fix those problems in my culinary skills or lack thereof. This class will take the intimidation out of making macarons. I loved this class and if you want to learn without having to do any type of trial and errors, TAKE THIS CLASS.

Chef Clémence is a fantastic instructor. She thoroughly explains the science and history behind the making of cheese as we learn to make it. It felt like I was getting a quick college lesson as well as a cooking lesson. We made butter, crème fraîche, ricotta, goat cheese, burrata and mozzarella in pairs and there was plenty to take home!

The class was fun and reasonably well organized. The training felt professional rather than home cook with experience. I feel like I could make from scratch everything we made in class. The shear amount of food made was daunting. I should have taken more home and eaten less on the spot.

This class was great! I appreciated each technique being explained to the group and then working in a team of 2 to recreate the recipe. It helped to better learn the recipe. All of the cookies we made were delicious and the cake box for taking home extras (there were many!) was very much appreciated! The only down side....we weren't able to take home the salted caramel ice cream!

This class was AMAZING! Very well organized, full of information on technique, history, ingredient structure and science, the instructor and her assistant had thought of everything! 4 breads in 3 hours with tons of take-home treats, I would recommend this course to absolutely everyone.

It was a great class, great instructor, great cooking environment at a beautiful and clean commercial kitchen in Santa Monica. I learned everything I needed to know about making delicious donuts! Thank you!

This was great because it was hands on and the instructor so extremely knowledgeable. Although we worked in pairs, everyone did the work from start to finish. My friend and I enjoyed the experience so much that we have already signed up to take another class.

Nice, but the instructor worked too fast,this is the first time I bake, the instructor thought everyone has baked thousands times like her already. Too many people in this class, I had to share my work station with other girl, and she wanted to do the way she wanted, she did most of the work. I had not experienced enough for me to learn in this class. Now I still have no idea what happened last night. Last time coursehorse.com also said they will give me $15 off for my next class after I wrote my reviews, but I didn't receive anything. I sent email to customers services. They said they would apply the discount after I register their classes, but so far I didn't receive anything from them. I love taking classes to learn more skill, so I still taking many classes even I have no discount, but it is so fun when course horse offer discounts to their clients and they do not keep their words.

We found our class very disappointing. The class was advertised to have Pastry Chef Clemence Gossett. We got some guy named John instead, who failed to introduce himself very well. He was a very poor teacher. He would constantly mix up words and was unable to explain things. He even skipped steps in the recipes and failed to add ingredients. The cheese making process was a disaster. He didn't teach anyone how to toss dough even though the class description said we would learn that.

The class was helpful but things were a little chaotic so I don't feel like I learned as much as I could have. I might be able to remember little tid-bits of the instructor's sage advice the next time I bake a pie but I wish I would have had time to let every ounce of info soak in instead of feeling so rushed.
