Provider Description

East Los Angeles College empowers students to achieve their educational goals, to expandtheir individual potential, and to successfully pursue their aspirations for a better future forthemselves, their community and the world.

In order to fulfill this College Mission, the college has developed four goals. These goals serve as the broad planning objectives through which all other college planning documents and departmental plans will be based. Together these goals provide a foundation for building a true agenda of student success.

Goal 1: Increasing student success and academic excellence through student-centered instruction, student-centered support services, and dynamic technologies.

Goal 2: Increasing equity in successful outcomes by analyzing gaps in student achievement and using this to identify and implement effective models and programming to remedy these gaps.

Goal 3: Sustaining community-centered access, participation, and preparation that improves the college's presence in the community, maximizes access to higher education and provides outlets for artistic, civic, cultural, scientific and social expression as well as environmental awareness.

Goal 4: Ensuring institutional effectiveness and accountability through data-driven decision-making as well as evaluation and improvement of all college programs and governance structures.

Really bad communication, the class was canceled, and parents had nowhere to call or asked questions. Really disappointed, I was looking forward to learn something from the class.

Israel Lopez, is a wonderful teacher. He's concise, patient and pleasant. I have done watercolor paintings in the past, but was always self taught. Israel showed us different techniques like: wet on wet, dry brush. We painted Koi and landscape etc. Five classes only, but packed in with information on brushes, what paper to use... worth the small price. I look forward to take more classes from Israel.

  • Parent and Preschooler Swim - Ages: 2 - 5 yrs.

Paid for four 45-min classes. They only taught for 30 min each class. The water was so cold that the kids were shivering the entire time and my daughter had purple lips. It made things worse in terms of getting them comfortable in the water. Do not recommend. We left the third class early because it was so cold and didn’t attend the 4th class at all.

When I first signed up my kid for the addition and subtraction course I was a bit skeptical if whether or not it was legit and to my surprise it was! My child ever since taking the course has greatly improved his mathematical skills. I would highly suggest other parents look into the program if they are to look into their kids' best interests.

My child enjoyed the class but said the teacher was quite impatient after giving assignments. She would be upset if the students didn’t complete it according to her short timeframes. These are elementary school kids! Have some patience.
