Leigh Ettinger MD, while in medical school at Tufts University School of Medicine in the mid-90s, was a paid research study participant in a nutrition study. He recalls spending overnight in the hospital for blood tests after two weeks of drinking a lot of Sprite, which further spurred his interest in nutrition. After graduating in 1998 he continued his training in Pediatrics and Pediatric Nephrology and then joined the hospital staff at Hackensack University Medical Center in 2004.
