What you'll learn in this crafts class:

Why stick with store-bought home prints? Your space deserves a decorative touch that’s totally you! Try embroidering your own art statement (we promise it’s not scary). In our beginner-friendly class we’ll give you a rundown on the basics of this classic craft.

In under two hours, you’ll learn:
  • How to prep your embroidery hoop for DIY magic
  • How to create and transfer your design onto fabric
  • The basics of selecting the perfect thread
  • How to start and end your embroidery project
  • How to create essential embroidery stitches, such as the running stitch, backstitch, split stitch and more.
All materials are included. We've got everything you need right here, including a colorful selection of threads and supplies. We have also a selection on beginner friendly embroidery patterns!

All of the instructors were especially helpful, patient, clear and attentive. They praised and encouraged all participants equally, which often doesn't happen among artistic types who often tend to show favorites or express admiration for more talented/creative/artistic students. It was a super relaxing, enjoyable environment and experience, i.e., just what we were looking for.

Great class! Melissa was very sweet and encouraging and I like that it was very free-form rather than "you have to embroider this." I do, however, feel that because I was at the back of the class I could not see the stitching she was doing, especially because the thread and fabric were both very light colors. I would suggest using something like a black thread on white fabric for better visibility, and to do the stitching examples from both sides of the table, or have everyone come gather closer during that 10 minutes. Had fun and loved BYOB!
