Class Description

Description

What you'll learn in this cartoon drawing class:

For the final event in our Roz Chast: Cartoon Memoirs program series, we lift our eyes up to gaze across the Atlantic at the ever-lively and inventive world of French cartooning. What does the contemporary cartooning, graphic novel and comics scene look like in France today, home of the beloved classic comix series of Tin Tin and Asterix, but also the provocative/incendiary Charlie Hebdo magazine? Who is the Parisian Roz Chast (if there even is one)? What are the major themes and latest projects coming out of L'Hexagon? Join Heidi MacDonald (The Comics Beat) for a discussion with a panel of leading French cartoonists including Olivier Balez, Penelope Bagieu, Etienne Davodeau, Asaf Hanuka, Nicolas Otero, and Anne Simon, hot as fresh croissants off the plane!
