Learn the art of composition, proportions, and color in this figure drawing and painting class. Working from a live model, students will develop their skills in a direct alla-prima approach, focusing on draftsmanship, values, and color mixing. All levels are welcome to join this hands-on and immersive experience.

This is a long pose figure drawing and painting class that focuses on composition, proportions, gesture, values, color and oil painting technique.
Working from the live model, students will learn to work in a direct alla-prima approach where they will aim for good draftsmanship, values and color. This is a fundamental skill in painting, and learning to mix colors in the right value and placing them correctly in the composition takes much practice
There will be constant demonstrations as well as critiques. Students of all levels are welcome.
Classes will be limited to 10 students/class. All students must wear masks, use hand sanitizer upon arrival, maintain proper social distancing and observe all protocols as specified by NY State guidelines.
