Description

Live edge furniture refers to wood pieces that showcase the original contours and organic natural aesthetic of the wood's exterior surface.

This hands-on workshop gives you the opportunity to construct your own live edge coffee table from initial material selection through final assembly. You will select a flitch of locally sourced hardwood and then use draw knives, power and hand sanders, and other specialized woodworking tools to carefully remove any bark remaining on the edge and achieve a smooth, refined finish along the live edge. After edge preparation, you will cut your piece to precise custom dimensions that match your specifications. The wood is then planed and sanded to achieve a polished, consistent surface texture. In the final assembly phase, a set of sturdy steel hairpin legs will be securely fastened to complete your table base.

Each participant will leave the workshop with a finished coffee table that is ready for you to apply your selected finish: wood stain, sealant, or other protective treatments of your choice.

Refund Policy

  • Full refunds less a 5% processing fee will be offered for cancellations that occur 32 days or more before a program's registration deadline (if no deadline, the first day of the program).
  • Cancellations between 31 and 9 days will be offered a 50% refund or credit toward another class.
  • Cancellations after the registration deadline or within 8 days of the first day of class (whichever comes first) will not be refunded.
  • In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
