Tween Explorations in Acting I (Ages 10-13)

These engaging acting classes emphasize spontaneity, simplicity, and genuine fun. The class begins with ensemble building exercises, improvisation games, and in-depth script analysis. Students then explore the Barrow Group approach and core acting tools through hands-on scene study. The class culminates in an open performance where friends and family are invited to watch their work. This class teaches our distinctive approach to storytelling and introduces students to the same foundational tools that our professional adult actors use. We believe that to act is to play, and that students learn most effectively in an atmosphere of relaxed positive reinforcement. These ongoing classes can be taken multiple times to develop your craft with different material and access additional techniques. What distinguishes the Barrow Group from many other studios in New York City is that all teachers have completed an intensive teacher training program.
