Spend one focused week in NYC mastering Microsoft Excel, the fundamentals of finance, and the essentials of stock market investing. This immersive summer program for high school students delivers the practical skills and financial literacy that set students apart in college and beyond.
Designed as a practical, career-relevant introduction to the tools and concepts that drive business and finance, this program is ideal for students interested in finance, business, real estate, entrepreneurship, and related fields. No prior experience is required. You will leave the week with a level of Excel fluency and financial understanding that most adults never develop.
Excel
Over three days, students build real Excel expertise from the ground up. Excel Fundamentals covers data entry, charts, and essential shortcuts. Intermediate Excel introduces Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP. Advanced Excel teaches you to record macros and automate your workflow. By the end, you'll know exactly how to use Excel the way professionals do.
Finance and Investing
Understand the forces behind stock price movements and the methods investors use to evaluate company value. This section covers the essentials of valuation metrics, including P/E ratios and DCF analysis, how to interpret financial statements, and the principles of fundamental investing. Students analyze real earnings reports and valuation data from well-known companies like Google and Apple.
Instructors
Students work with experienced instructors who specialize in teaching Excel and finance to young audiences. The curriculum has been developed by graduates of the Wharton Business School and NYU Stern School of Business, bringing a rigorous academic foundation to an accessible, high-energy teaching format.
