As every savvy commercial actor knows, many auditions are strictly improvised and in order to BOOK, you need to have this skill set down pat! Barry is an expert teacher of these kinds of auditions where there is either no copy at all or the script is partly or entirely improvised.
This online intensive will focus on Improv as it relates to commercials and other types of auditions. You'll learn to mime eating, talking and reacting in a restaurant scene; activities thrown at you "in the moment"; taking a script and putting it into your own words; improvising dialogue before the written script starts and after it ends; creating an instant character fully realized at a moment's notice and much more!
Barry's classes and intensives are always sold-out, you'll need to be fast to get in on this one!

A commercial CD for over 30 years, Barry's casting experience translates to you feeling comfortable in these kinds of auditions so that you BOOK them! He's recently cast commercials for GOOGLE, TACO BELL, McDONALDS, NFL, REVLON, MILLER BEER, DICK'S SPORTING GOODS, VOLKSWAGEN, BAYER ASPIRIN and MACARONI GRILL to name a few.
"Barry's Improv Intensive was awesome! Thank you for the recommendation, it definitely got me out of my comfort zone!" -Jillian Tapper, Miss New York 2014
"Just want to let you know that the intensive with Barry was great. I learned a few more constructive "homework techniques" to prepare myself for not only a commercial audition, but ones that can be used in any audition. They will help to keep me quick on my feet and take adjustments/direction on the fly." -Al DiRusso
"Hi Barry. Your Intensive yesterday at the Actors Connection was phenomenal. It is by far the best class I have taken thus far. You gave great feedback without tearing us down. Also, watching the playbacks were great for laughs. However, I am sure I speak for the entire class when I say it is was very helpful in looking at what we are good at and what we need to improve upon. It was just a very comfortable environment. Thanks again!" -Engelia McCullough
“I took Barry’s Improv for Commercials intensive and I was floored by how much we learned in a day! Barry does a great job of mixing exercises and real commercial audition scenarios to hone your skills on this art form. As a CD in the field I feel he prepares you for what the commercial audition world is like in a realistic way. After taking his class I am now working with two agents at Abrams Artists in the Commercial Department!” - Stephanie Leone
