Beginner Foundations of Hip Hop classes at Peridance have several instructor options. Please see instructor methods & styles below and choose an instructor that best aligns with your needs and wants:
1) Always representing The South Bronx, Tweetboogie is devoted to the street styles of hip-hop. She enjoys traveling all over the world teaching in different countries such as Japan, Poland, China, The Philippines, Ukraine, Saudi Arabia, Australia and South Africa to name a few. Assisting choreography on shows like "So You Think You Can Dance Canada" with Luther Brown, her passion led her to work with top artists like Jay-Z, Fergie, Mya, Shareefa, LL Cool J, Mary J Blige, Ryan Leslie, Shakira and recently Wynter Gordon. She has done commercials for iPod and NIKE commercials in Europe. Recently, Tweetboogie choreographed Jazmine Sullivan's latest videos "Holding You Down" and "10 Seconds" and her stage show for the Mary J Blige Tour. She was also the host of MTV's "Dances From The Hood" On Demand. Two of her biggest clients were Oprah and Gail, when she taught them some of the latest hip-hop moves as a guest choreographer on The OPRAH Show.
Class Description: Tweetboogie teaches a mixture of different hip hop street style dances including how to use the correct feeling and expression behind every move.

2) Tomoe Carr, an accomplished and versatile artist, began her dance journey in Japan before honing her skills in New York City across a spectrum of styles including Hip Hop, Modern, and Ballet. With a rich training background from Next Generation New York Studios Japan and esteemed mentors, she has showcased her talent on various platforms including Disney and Saturday Night Live. Renowned for her prowess in dance battles and community-focused initiatives, Tomoe is recognized for her dedication to both artistic excellence and advocacy within the dance community, making impactful contributions through performance, teaching, and community outreach nationwide.
Class Description: Introduction to Hip Hop through drilling grooves, party steps and foundations. This class will consist of simple Hip Hop groove breakdowns. Drilling the movement to understand the fundamental, musicality, and his/herstory of Hip Hop. There will be no choreography in this class, so it is a perfect fit for anyone who has never taken Hip Hop and wants to start learning Hip Hop.
