Spend this summer building a real foundation in graphic design by learning the three Adobe applications that define the industry: Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator. In this NYC-based program for high school students, every lesson is built around hands-on, real-world design projects that produce portfolio-ready work.
The program opens with Adobe Photoshop, covering essential retouching and compositing workflows, techniques for combining multiple images, web graphics preparation, and more. Students learn to work like a production designer from day one.
The InDesign section dives deep into professional print and layout design. Students learn to style typography, import images and graphics, manage multi-page documents, define and apply color, and thread text frames across a layout, skills that are essential for magazine design, book production, branding materials, and beyond.
The Illustrator section introduces students to the core tools of vector graphics: drawing with the Pen tool, working with type, creating Compound Paths, applying Effects and Masks, building Patterns and Blends, and managing Layers and Colors. Illustrator is the foundation of logo design, icon creation, and illustration work across every creative industry.
Throughout the program, students build a diverse and dynamic design portfolio that any working creative professional would be proud to present.
