Teens receive one-on-one customized art instruction with professional artists as they explore artistic techniques including color theory, art history, acrylic painting, realistic and abstract drawing, mixed-media expression, line quality, composition, shading, texture, personal style, realism, abstraction, and more.

Whether your teen is an up-and-coming artist, preparing for a future portfolio, or a beginner, The Art Studio NY’s warm and nurturing professional teaching artists will work one-on-one with each teen throughout our art camp for teens in order to foster joyful, artistic growth while creating artwork that your teen will be proud of.

As each student explores acrylic paint on canvas, oil pastels, charcoal, mixed-media expression, watercolor painting, pencil drawing, comics and cartooning, graffiti art, ink, portraiture and more, teens will build their self-esteem while learning to express themselves fully. • Receive tailor-made, encouraging one-on-one expert teen art instruction in drawing, painting, artistic technique and individual self-expression in a small group setting (8 teens maximum)
• Learn how to express your personal artistic style
• Explore, practice and advance your drawing and painting techniques, such as: composition, shading, depth, line quality, dimension, realism, subject matter choice, mark making, brush work, texture, and developing your own unique style
• Experiment with and learn about art techniques related to a variety of drawing and painting genres, including lighting, color blending, contrast, drawing and painting from observation, abstraction, landscape art, realism, color fields, layering and more

• 1:00 - 1:15 pm: Ice Breakers and Creative Warm-Up Games
• 1:15 - 2:30 pm: Watercolor Landscape Painting
• 2:30 - 2:45 pm: Painting Techniques: Instructor Demo and Q and A
• 2:45 - 3:00 pm: Famous Artist Fun-Fact Group Drawing Challenge
• 3:00 - 3:45 pm: Drawing Trees in 3D
• 3:45 - 4:00 pm: Daily Art Exhibit and Group Art Share

In-Person (Outdoor and In-Studio) Art Camp Materials:

Due to the CDC COVID camp precautions, we will NOT supply art materials this summer. Rather, each family is responsible for purchasing and bringing their own art supplies daily. Please purchase the following supplies prior to your first day of camp. To make it easy, CLICK BELOW to purchase inexpensive art supplies that will be delivered to your door! Sharing supplies between kids is not permitted. Make sure to order with plenty of time for shipping (at least 7 business days prior to camp).
