  This class was fantastic! It's all about Allan as his expertise and kind personality takes center stage throughout the class. The way class is structured was so helpful. Students dive into the deep end of the proverbial pool since Allan will speak mostly Spanish and everyone is prompted to read and encouraged to participate. The small and large group activities throughout the class were helpful and it's a nice plus to socialize with new people. The Manhattan Language school is great as well with their customer service and intimate office (school..) layout! Highly recommend if you are committed to learning. If you know you'll miss classes please consider joining another time so other students can sit in instead! So excited to join Spanish Beginner 2 next week!

  The school was very flexible, amazing teachers, and very simple and affordable to get started with Course Horse. I started out attending in-person class but then I wanted to switch to online classes. They did that for me without any problem. The professors were patient and supportive.

  I love every minute of the learning experience with Clara. Clara esta inteligente e interesante. I learned how to pronunce the words correctly, I learned how to conjugate verbs "estar" and "ser". I learned many new useful Spanish words that I intent to use in my work settings. I like it so much that I am signing up for more lessons.

  Belen is wonderful, hilarious, and an efficient teacher! You learn how to conjugate verbs in many different forms and the class transcends an academic Spanish education. It is very helpful to have had some prior knowledge of nouns, verbs, and basic conjugations though, and if you do, things will come back quickly.

  I took the Spanish 1: Beginner course over the summer. I came to the course with some prior knowledge of basic greetings etc, but a complete novice in terms of having a conversation. Eric was our instructor with a group of around 7, the size of which made it possible for everyone to practice and have time for feedback before proceeding onward. We learned history, went through book lessons, and Eric would recommend great music every week for us to immerse ourselves in - and I still listen to many of the artists today. Throughout the course, my vocabulary, pronunciation, conjugation, and conversational skills have dramatically increased; as a dentist, this has allowed me many opportunities to connect with my Spanish-speaking patients, and I am so glad to have taken the course. Looking forward to joining the intermediate course during the winter. Thank you!!!

  Took the beginner Spanish class, which has been a lot of fun. Lower stress as our teacher (Eric) has been adaptable to our differences in experience (most of us being complete novices). We spent some time talking about the theory in both English and Spanish, listened to a lot of good music, and got put on the spot with the expectation that we had studied previous exercises. Overall happy with the experience and feel more confident in my abilities - looking forward to progressing further!

  Spanish- Total Beginner was the just-right level for me. Adelina was a great tutor. She was supportive and patient, and always provided a mix of speaking, listening, and a variety of learning activities which helped me retain what I learned during class.   Very fun and learned a lot. After the first few weeks learning the basics, our teacher really focused on reviewing what our class was having trouble understanding to ensure we were getting as much practice as we needed. Would recommend!

  Monica is a great teacher, really nice and super chill. The class goes by fast and there's a lot of information, but it's a great starter if you're new to the language. It does make you want to continue,as you need to learn more tenses and vocabulary to actually speak in Spanish.

  I am half way through Spanish level 1 with Victor and all I can say is - Yo amo Fluent City! ...Ok so I can actually say a lot more than that! Victor is a fantastic, inspiring and lively tutor. He makes the task of learning a new language a lot less daunting and very enjoyable. He speaks no less than 12 (!!!) languages himself so he's very knowledgeable and definitely knows what he's talking about....!! Before each class he will email us homework, which we prepare then discuss and expand on in class. Each class is 2 hours long. This is a great format and we cover a lot of material in every session. The classes are very engaging, Victor even emails us film and music clips to help us learn. The songs about verb endings have not left my head since and I often find myself singing them in the shower/gym/subway! I have wasted no time in signing up for Spanish level 2. I must also add that the support team at Fluent City - Lauren especially - are amazing. She is so helpful, efficient and friendly! As the review above states, you would be foolish not to sign up with F.C over their competitors! åÀQuÌ© estÌÁs esperando?

  I absolutely love this class, the style of teaching and the class size. The location is also incredibly central and convenient for all transport including PATH trains from NJ. Our teacher, Nelson, cannot be faulted and he remembers everything about everyone in the class in order to further Spanish conversation and draw answers out of us. The school provides weekly tips via email, Quizlet revision cards, a blog and many suggestions on how to further our learning. We have learned to say so much in such a short time in this Beginners class that we are definitely not beginners already. I would recommend Berges Institute to everyone. It is also very good value for money and the class cost does not contribute towards running a large organization, just the classrooms and teachers.

  Elissa's teaching method is definitely not common, but it definitely helped and brought back the Spanish I had knowledge of many years ago. I find myself to be speaking more fluidly and with more confidence!

  Went for all ten weeks of Spanish classes with Ashley at City Speakeasy, and it was incredible! Ashley is a fantastic teacher, very warm and welcoming. I did a semester of Spanish way back when so it was a great refresher, but I'm sure it'll be a good beginner course too. I liked that there was more emphasis on conversation, and great use of external tools such as songs and videos. 5 stars for sure!

  This was a refresher course for me and I am sooooo happy that I took it. I learned a lot and gained more confidence to speak Spanish. My teacher, Fabian Gonzalez was really excellent! He was fun, he had so much patience and had a do a ton of practice. He is a really good teacher.

  This is definitely the most fun language class I've ever taken. Elissa is endlessly inventive, so the class is never boring. Before you know it, you're putting all these new words together into simple sentences and starting to speak Spanish! The students are of different ages and backgrounds, but the atmosphere is so relaxed they're all friendly and supportive. Altogether, a delightful, rewarding experience.

  My wife, Katie, and I spent a delightful weekend with about eight others in this class, and came out speaking Spanish! The course revolves around learning some basic verbs and nouns, and moving around the group starting stories and adding to them as we moved along. Great method and good success. Hope to go back for Intermediate, where we'll add past/future tenses to what we've learned. We recently visited Cuba and this class helped us a lot.

  I have attended several weekend intensives with my husband and we can’t wait to sign up for the next round of classes. This is definitely the most enjoyable way to study a new language. We have so much fun in class that it doesn’t feel like “learning” and yet at the end of the weekend I can tell that we have acquired a lot of Spanish! Elissa is so good at bringing all her students out of their shells and creating a great classroom environment. where we can all be silly together. I highly recommend the immersion classes!

  I am one of those people who gets flustered very quickly when learning languages, especially when learning languages in a classroom from a textbook. Usually things stop making sense and the whole process becomes nothing but a hotbed for anxiety and insecurity. I DID NOT have this experience when I went to the Express Fluency Beginner Spanish course. Elissa is basically pure positive energy in human form. Her approach of teaching us through what I think of as kindergarten-style learning takes away the sense of failure and fear. You are constantly listening and engaging in ways that make learning much more intuitive. You are never pressured to speak when you are not comfortable. The important thing is that you UNDERSTAND, something none of my other language classes actually focused on, which probably was why I would fall behind so quickly. These classes are long but you come out feeling confident in the work you've done. I would recommend this Spanish learning course above any other I've taken.

  The instruction was excellent. The teaching technique is quite remarkable, and I covered a lot of ground in a very short time. I found myself tracking everything that was being said, and the whole idea is that it's kind of like being a baby again -- language is happening all around you, and you have to get on board with it if you want to make yourself understood.

  The Spanish teacher knows many languages and can relate them to each other. He is also a very nice person and answers all questions with a lot of patience. He pushes us just the right amount and is encouraging. He's also super nice. Love my Spanish teacher and the class. Not to mention that I'm learning much more than I would have on my own. I'm glad I took it. I highly recommend this class to anyone. TORKOMADA is the best language school!
