What are some of your most popular classes that you offer on CourseHorse?
Our most popular class offered on CourseHorse is our 2-hour instructor guided workshop which provides instructions and materials to create a 16x20 acrylic painting.
How long have you been in business? Can you share a 1-2 sentence history of the school and how it was founded?
Paint Along was formed in 2008 and the Paint Along NYC location was opened in 2010. Paint Along was founded by Linda Rhea in 2008, a successful fashion industry professional, while exploring a desire to move into different creative roles, she rekindled her love for painting and developed the Paint Along brand in an effort to share skills and knowledge of painting in a fun studio environment. The instruction and atmosphere was adapted so that anyone can participate in the painting sessions without prior experience.
What is your average class size?
Our average class size is (16) painters per session.
What is your typical student like? What are their goals?
Our students are typically individuals, date nights, groups of friends & family, and business colleagues to name a few. Many painters have little to no painting experience and are just looking to socialize and create in a relaxed environment which we provide. However, we also have students who have a fine arts background or are looking to pick up a few new techniques and find our open sessions provide a great environment to challenge and improve their skills. We offer a diverse painting library with options to meet all levels of students.
Can you recommend 1-2 activities to do in the neighborhood before or after class?
Paint Along NYC is located in the heart of the Flatiron District. Painters can enjoy a wide array of excellent dining options before or after class at locations like Blue Smoke, Sarabeth’s, Dos Comino’s, and Eataly to name a few. Painters can also explore tourist spots like the Flatiron building and the beautiful Madison Square Park or take a leisurely stroll to one of the nearby movie theaters to catch a show in Union Square or Kips Bay.
The class was great and great teacher!!!
Great class and instructor
The class was a lot of fun, and the instructor, Ally, was great!
Felt a Little Like Speed Painting - but an enjoyable experience and the painting came out well. Domino Pizza, with all the great pizza in NYC - eh.
course description said food was included... there was no food
Nikki was an awesome teacher!
Overall loved the class! Walked in hoping I’d be able to keep up and leave with something half way decent - Nikki was an amazing teacher and I feel like I learned a lot, had a lot of fun and actually painted something I’m really proud of! Would highly recommend!!
Fun class. Appropriate for beginners and there’s some experience alike. BYOB adds to the fun. You get to take home your art at the end of the night after blow drying it dry. I would definitely do this again.
When I arrived for my BYOB Painting class, it was just me and my friend, so it felt pretty much like a private session. The facilitator was amazing, and I had never painted with acrylics but eventually felt at ease (the beer might have helped ;) I would strongly recommend this class. Book it with some friends or go solo. It is so worth it :D
The class was great! The instructor was very passionate about art. My only complaint was the music! She didn’t have a great playlist at all so it kind of killed the vibe
