Our Mission:

We make the most delicious chocolate possible while building and maintaining healthy and valuable relationships with our global community, our planet and each other.

Ryan Cheney was introduced to chocolate making at a yoga school on a beautiful island in Thailand, where he was excited by the flavors of unroasted cocoa beans. Inspired by companies with social missions, he founded Raaka to explore low-temperature chocolate making and create a more equitable global society in which communities have opportunity to improve their quality of life.

After spending a year learning bean-to-bar chocolate making, Ryan teamed up with Nate Hodge, a musician and gastronomist with a lust for exotic flavors and groundbreaking processes. For several months, Nate and Ryan enjoyed the sound of micro-batch chocolate grinders churning around the clock as they developed a new approach to chocolate making.

I received this tour as a gift and it was incredible! You learn so much in the walk-around factory tour and get to do some fun taste-testing along the way. Creating our own three bars was definitely the highlight! Will keep an eye out for their chocolate in stores :)

The overall experience of touring and tasting chocolate was amazing. A very interactive and informal tour that basically taught my group that theres a lot that goes into making chocolate nevertheless selling it simultaneously. It was a great community building activity and I recommend it to everyone. Plus the staff is so kind and welcoming.

Loved the class! Learned so much information about various types of chocolate making and how Raaka is different. The employees at Raaka are so passionate about what they do and it was wonderful to experience that first hand. The “chocolate making” may have only been a small portion of the class, but the whole experience was wonderful! Would definitely recommend!

The class was exactly what I thought it would be. The guide was very informative about the process of how they make their chocolate bars. I was looking for something interesting to fill my Saturday afternoon and this class was great. Also, the chocolate is AMAZING!!!
