Great teacher and nice approach to the holistic vision of this spice.
Instructor was lively and very knowledgeable. Overall very fun. Unfortunately the class was very disorganized and she didn’t cover all the material on time. Given that part of the class is making recipes, would suggest a more structured schedule and game plan to get through everything (like a Thanksgiving dinner plan).
The class was exactly as described. Instructor Laura Vogel is an experienced teacher and got through the class syllabus as planned. The classroom desks were roomy enough to work comfortably and lighting was provided for each desk. We used all the class materials listed and learned techniques necessary to complete a watercolor painting. I will take classes with this instructor again. Excellent class!
Way too advanced for me!!
Very informative, good discussion
We loved the class. Our instructor was really great, so engaging, enthusiastic, experienced and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the intimacy of the smallish class and the setting at the NYCBG was beautiful, even under a covering of snow. Only one thing: Our instructor indicated that he would be sending us some information from his power point slide presentation by email. We did leave our email address, but we have not yet received the information. I understand he may be busy and it has only been a week since our class. We look forward to receiving that information and getting on with our home garden preparations! Again, the class and the instructor get the highest ratings from us and we would not hesitate to take another class at NYCBG. Many thanks!
I had difficulty hearing, partly due to the speaker's indifference to the position of the microphone. I could catch just enough to realize how much I wanted to hear more.
I loved the class. The teacher - Linda Nemergut - was incredible. She has vast knowledge, knows how to deal with beginners, is very patient, gives a lot of personal attention, and answers all your questions. What else to wish for? You are not rushed - also good news for a beginner. Another good thing - for reasonable price you get to understand, what botanical illustration is - and decide, whether you want to take NYBG certification classes or master this type of drawing in depth by yourself. Even if not - information about paper, pencils, supplies, and some basics is applicable for any type of drawing. It was definitely money wisely spent.
Great course on how to make your outdoor space into a functional garden. Lots of tips and pointers. Excited for the spring!
