What you'll learn in this classical class:

Free! Celebrate the decade when hair was big, fashion was bold, and pop superstars reigned in this tribute to late great musical legends Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, David Bowie, and George Michael. DJ Misbehaviour of Mobile Mondays! and Boogie Blind of X-Ecutioners will spin a mashup of all of your favorite 80s classics from hip-hop jams to dancefloor hits and there will be an all-levels dance lesson with choreographer Karen NG featuring the moves that defined the era.

Join the Museum of the City of New York and El Museo Del Barrio for our fourth annual Uptown Bounce series of free summer block parties. On four consecutive Wednesday evenings, dance to New York DJs, enjoy gallery talks, tours, art workshops, and savor summer drinks and local food.

This program is presented in collaboration with El Museo Del Barrio and produced with Rebecca Lynn of Mobile Mondays!

This event is free and open to the public but pre-registration is required.

Refund Policy

The Public Programs Department at the Museum of the City of New York has a strict no refunds policy.

For curator-led group tours:

· Space is limited to 25 participants and advance registration is required
· Enrollment will close on Tuesday, October 1st at noon
· Check in with Visitors Services upon entering the museum to receive a designated tour sticker
· Meet the curator in the rotunda on the first floor under the Starlight chandelier
· Minimum enrollment must be reached or the event may be canceled by email notification on October 1st and fully refunded
· All sales are final
