What you'll learn in this cheese making class:

In this hands-on class, you’ll turn fresh cheese curds into balls of fresh, silky mozzarella and burrata that you can bring home.

Learn the traditional and delicious art of stretching fresh cheese alongside a Murray’s expert. Because there’s nothing as satisfying as milky, mild, silky, still mozzarella and burrata. Start by tasting exceptional versions of pasta filata-style (pulled curd) cheeses and accompaniments, all while sipping our house wine. Then, the real fun starts as you get hands on with fresh cheese curds, stretching and creating your own high-quality cheese to take home.

  • Format: guided tasting and hands-on cheesemaking with a Murray’s expert in our classroom
  • Includes: 5 cheeses, curds to make one mozzarella and one burrata.
  • Beverages: red and sparkling white wine

Additional Information

In-person classes take place in the classrooms located at our Bleecker Street store. Our classrooms are located upstairs and downstairs at our venue and are therefore not wheelchair accessible.

Mozzarella Making is for ages 16 and up. For those under 21, non-alcoholic beverages are available as a substitution for house wine—please notify us ahead of time for proper set-up.

During some of our classes, our content team and/or partners may be filming for social media purposes.

Refund Policy

  • Refunds less a 5% nonrefundable processing fee up to 2 business days before the event.
  • If you wish to transfer these tickets to an alternate party, please send us written communication to [email protected] 2 business days prior to the class.
  • Tickets cannot be transferred to an alternate class date.
  • In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.

    What an absolutely perfect afternoon! This class was fun, informational, delicious and lovely. Our instructor was so knowledgable, witty, helpful and warm. What blew me away was how well it was prepped and run. From the wine and tasting to the actual making and the gifts to take home, it was an incredible experience that exceeded my expectations.

    My 2nd class at Murray’s and I enjoyed it for the most part. It would have been great to know more about the sparkling wine and red that was served. It also may have been helpful for the instructor and assistants to fan out and help with the exercise table to table. The instructor reviewed once so if you didn’t catch what to do the first time that was it. I look forward to my next class. Thanks!

    The first half of the class was mozzarella tasting, and the second was mozzarella making. It was the perfect length of time, unlimited wine, and very well organized. A really fun date night. It’s educational without being stuffy or boring. Would highly recommend.

    I was initially scheduled to take this with a friend, but something came up somewhat unexpectedly for them and Coursehorse or Murray’s - I’m not sure which - would not allow him to transfer our tickets to another date, so I had to take this alone. Instructor was really good, but I did think this was overpriced for what you got: a 20 minute wine/cheese tasting, a 15 minute break, another 20-30 minutes watching the demonstration then making the cheese. We ended almost 20 minutes early; didn’t feel like I got $100 value out of this experience.

    Yes, we learned the essentials of making mozzarella but it was a very basic class ... a social event. My cheese was very rubbery. The whole point of learning to actually “make” the cheese was to make the beautifully tender fresh cheese. Didn’t happen. Lots of wine, charming, funny teacher. But a brief order of steps could have been provided. I’m sure the whole group was pleased, I wasn’t.
