Wednesday Apr 24th, 6:30pm - 9pm
We are a drawing group of like-minded people who share a passion for drawing. We meet and draw at iconic New York City locations, such as The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The New York Public Library and Central Park.
Our Mission is to provide real and tangible results for drawing students of all levels, from beginner to professional, in a nonjudgmental environment.
Our classes are for you if you have been wanting to get back to your drawing, start drawing or improve your drawing skills.
Run by the drawing instructor at The National Arts Club, these sessions include personal discussions of your work for each attendee. Simon Levenson will help you with the basics that are shared by all students, such as value, depth, shading, line, etc... but also assist you in pursuing your unique goals to help you improve individually.
Join us for a group class in this amazing city with an artist who is already out there doing it.
It had been a year since my last class, and I always leave feeling I want to make attending a regular habit. The class flies by, is promptly kept to time and a nice intimate setting.
Simon does a great job teaching the basics, and overall is an excellent teacher. He knows his stuff, and is able to relay the material in an easy to understand format. He is also very punctual, for both start and finish times. I wholeheartedly would recommend this class.
Class is excellent but a little too crowded
I liked it and will go next time, just wish it was not so congested.
Super overbooked a little difficult to see the model but good otherwise
I really liked it. I was a very relaxing environment. It’s been 30+ years since I have been to an art class. I was very pleased. Simon was very nice.
I loved this class. I was nervous because I haven't drawn for 20 years but this wasn't intimidating at all. I can't wait to come back.
Simon is a true professional and a patient, encouraging teacher! I came into this class with an enjoyment for drawing but no formal education or experience and walked out feeling like I had a solid grasp of the foundations of figure drawing. The class is long but you get a couple of breaks and the format follows a very sensible mix of lecture and putting what you just learned into practice. Definitely ok for people w/o experience or who think they can't draw - Simon will show you that you can!
Enjoyed the studio. Good lighting, excellent model. Wish the standing easels were a bit less rickety . Room seems to work better with working at a desk . Price is fair and friendly group leaders make for a pleasant experience.
Very relaxed atmosphere. This is the first time I had done a class like this and I was not intimidated at all. Everyone very friendly. Would definitely do it again if I come back to New York City.
