Marta Rovira

Marta Rovira was born in 1976, and is the fourth generation of the Rovira-Carbonell winemaking family of the Penedès region. She and her three sisters grew up combining school with the family estate work. From 1994 to 1999 she studied mechanical engineering in Barcelona and completed her studies in Munich, Germany. During those years she did not miss a harvest at the winery. Between 2000 and 2004 Marta combined her work as a project manager for the development of the Airbus A380 turbine engine with Mas d'en Gil tastings around the globe. In 2005 she returned to her roots with the aim of reawakening the estate using her family tradition, organic farming, and introducing biodynamic methods. Since 1993 Marta has also collaborated with the family's contemporary art gallery, PALMA DOTZE.
